My Journey
Early Years:
Edelsa Reyes was born in the beautiful Republic of the Philippines. From the moment of her birth, her mother filled her days with music, a cherished tradition in their native country that strengthened family bonds. Her mother's active involvement in religious activities meant constant worship songs and special moments, like singing the "Mañanitas" and birthday songs, which left a lasting impression on Edelsa. She marveled at the musicians accompanying her mother, deeply influenced by the enchanting sounds of their instruments. This early exposure ignited her lifelong passion for music.
At the tender age of 7, Edelsa embarked on her musical journey, initially strumming the guitar without any formal training. Despite her petite stature making it challenging to reach the fretboard, she persevered, pressing chords and strumming simultaneously. Recognizing her potential, her beloved uncle, Nong Andres, became her first mentor. The joy of mastering her instrument awakened an enduring love for music. At 19, her younger brother Robert gifted her a portable Yamaha Keyboard, and she began teaching herself to play melodies by ear. Her passion for singing led her to sporadic formal voice lessons in her 20s, depending on the twists of her personal journey.
Her Journey begins:
Edelsa's musical journey was shaped by a blend of mentors and her continuous self-teaching. While she never pursued a formal music career, she diligently prepared herself to finally release her original music in 2023 and 2024 and continues to the present day. For years, she held onto the mantra "one day." Today, she lives by the mottos "it's better late than never" and "never give up!" Regardless of life's challenges, she presses forward. Music has been her refuge, helping her heal from heartbreaks and adversity. To Edelsa, music is not only her peace but also her source of joy in life.
Heart to Heart
In Retrospect:
During my youth, I lacked the opportunity to attend music school, often viewing my musical abilities as merely basic. I sometimes underestimated them, thinking they were primarily for my own amusement or to entertain family and friends. Looking back, I now realize that music was not just a hobby but also a healing balm for my soul and my calling. As a once very shy individual, I've gradually become more comfortable singing, both with friends and in public.
My Music and Creative Process:
All my music is inspired by my Faith in God and originates from my heart and soul. As I embarked on music and production lessons with my mentor, Grammy® award-winning pianist, arranger, composer, and Latin Grammy® award-winning producer, Lannie Battistini, I found tremendous inspiration. Learning from him, along with the support of his remarkable team and his wife, and Grammy® Nominee for Music Publicity, Neysa Battistini, who oversees Artist Development department at Hands In Motion Music Productions, propelled me into the music world. Elevating my music and creating something I'm profoundly passionate about has brought me so much joy. The fact that I can share my music with the world is so overwhelming to where it feels like it’s the holy grail in my life - finally making my dream happen. My melodies often emerge during basic piano scale exercises or even in my dreams, which I strive to remember and play. Sometimes, while singing, entirely new melodies spontaneously surface. When strumming my guitar and playing chords, melodies naturally follow. Writing lyrics is a collaborative process with the music, as my mood aligns with the backing tracks I listen to.

I'm immensely grateful to God for providing me with incredible music instructors and mentors in the past, and especially to Mr. Lannie, my music mentor, collaborator and Producer for all my music. His guidance has helped me realize my dream of becoming a professional artist and music composer. I feel honored to share my music with the world, hoping it inspires, makes a difference, and impacts lives. Above all, I aim to infuse hope and Light into the hearts of listeners. I look forward to crafting more inspirational songs that uplift spirits and strengthen faith in God Almighty.
